A fire severely damaged an unoccupied home on 15th Avenue in Hawaiian Paradise Park Friday afternoon.
According to a Hawaii Fire Department statement, eight units responded to the 1:27 p.m. alarm with the first unit arriving on scene at 1:30 p.m.
Arriving firefighters found smoke and flames billowing from the windows and fire spreading throughout the interior of the 2,200-sq. ft., four-bedroom house. Attack lines were used to extinguish the fire, which consumed most of the structure’s interior.
The fire was reported under control at 1:40 p.m. and extinguished at 1:45 p.m.
There were no injuries. Property damage was estimated at $176,000, with $44,000 reportedly saved by firefighting efforts. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
